BET premiered the Black Is King trailer after Beyoncé accepted her Humanitarian Award at the 2020 BET Awards for all of her Bey Good efforts to improve the world.

Then, Disney+ dropped the official trailer and confirmed the film will stream exclusively on their platform on July 31.

Mama Tina Lawson took to Instagram on Sunday and gushed about her daughter’s forthcoming film and how hard Beyoncé worked on this project.

I am so excited about this new film that Beyonce has done for Disney!! “Black Is King”

Talk about a love letter to Africa and our journey as Black people!! I could not be more proud of this film. She has worked on this forever it seems, day and night seven days a week at a very large personal and financial sacrifice.

Many times as a concerned mother I have said to her, you are a little too obsessed with this ! and people have no idea what this cost you in time, money and blood sweat and tears.

Her reply “We need this right now Mama”!! More than ever! “Everything started in Africa! It will be worth it”!!

So Thank you Beyonce for not letting anyone ( including me) or anything stop your messaging!!!

For being an activist in your own way through your art that shows the beauty and regal power and strength of our people ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ It was definitely worth it❤️❤️❤️❤️

I’m looking forward to checking out Black Is King when it’s released.

Note: Disney+ is no longer doing free trials so you will have to scoop their streaming service, but we’ve got you covered.
