Deb Antney, Waka Flocka’s mom, recently revealed on the Math Hoffa podcast, “My Expert Opinion,” that she looked at Nicki Minaj as her daughter because she didn’t have one.
Deb is an entertainment manager and the founder and CEO of Mizay Entertainment.
She is responsible for breaking the careers of Gucci Mane, French Montana, and Nicki Minaj.
During the interview, Math Hoffa asked Deb if she looked at Nicki as her daughter, and Deb replied:
Yeah, I did, I did, that was my baby.
It’s like anything she wanted she got it, anything!
I remember her birthday I got her this little diamond, you know, I remember the furs, I wanted all them furs coming up in there so every time she walked out there on BET she was coming in something else long.
She so pretty, so tiny, you know what I’m saying, like she just so tiny and um…
I love her and nobody’s going to take that away.
I wouldn’t give a f**k what anybody say or how they say something, you know, even to Fendi to the stuff with us it wasn’t like a beef… we got into it because you wanted the cover to be called fat p**** and I didn’t want that.
I’m not selling sex. That’s how the beef started with me and him.
Deb said that people wanted Nicki to be like Lil Kim, but that’s not what she or Nicki wanted.
She said that Nicki knew what she wanted to be, and she was a very secretive person.
Deb said she didn’t even know Safaree was her boyfriend for a very long time.
Her sh*t was so secretive I didn’t even know Safaree was her boyfriend…

I thought he was her hype guy, but see I started learning, because, you know, another thing that people didn’t know is Nicki and Safari was also with Full Force before.
That’s what a lot of people don’t know.
Rumor has it that Nicki Minaj fired Deb as her manager in 2009 for not securing an International Work Permit for her to tour with Rihanna.
According to an anonymous source:
I know for a FACT that she was fired because the stupid b***h neglected to get Nicki Minaj an international work permit (you need those to perform outside of the US) and they take a long time to obtain.
Well, Nicki cant work outside the US on the tour, so therefore she couldn’t go..boo hoo. The manager neglected to tie some loose ends in regards to that.
Now, I am the managers associate (friend) so i know this for sure. it was an honest mistake. Deb don’t know sh*t about managing an international act. She’s low class, but she still my b***h so I wont elaborate or talk sh*t about her on this board.
Deb confirmed the firing in an email sent to Hip Hop Weekly:
I received a letter, which was a suspension. The next letter that came in was a cease and desist in doing all business with Nicki Minaj from Nicki’s attorney.
I love Nicki. I wish her the most success. It’s not about the music, she’s like one of my children… I wish her no harm, only much success.

Reportedly Nicki was discovered by Fendi, who gave her the name Nicki Minaj, but after they fell out Deb took over as Nicki’s manager.
Nicki is now managed by popular manager Wassim Slaiby, who manages Diddy, The Weeknd, Doja Cat, French Montana, and many others.
Deb’s love for Nicki Minaj is undeniable.
