Cypress Hill and Onyx had a Verzuz battle on Saturday night (May 14) and no one is talking about it!
The reason why is because the event at The Kia Forum in Los Angeles, California, which was billed as the very first “Fight Night Music” show, was behind a paywall.
Fans had to purchase a TrillerVerz Pass at $2.99/month or $29.99/year in order to watch the Verzuz event that featured the two legendary Hip Hop groups battling it out as well as several boxing matches.
Then, there was a large portion of folks who didn’t even know the battle was happening.
Actress Reagan Gomez took to Twitter writing:
I know everybody is kind of over Verzuz at this point but EYE was both an Onyx AND Cypress Hill fan & yet I’d seen nothing about it on Twitter or Instagram smh?
Seems weird if ur looking for viewers to not target/alert the ppl who would’ve been into it but hey??♀️

B Real of Cypress Hill says he felt like they were “shorted” because it was a PPV event.
I have to say although it was great to rock w/ our brothers @ONYX_HQ in the Verzuz battle, I feel like @verzuzonline shorted us all by not running it on Ig live like all other battles.
They made it a ppv event & made the battle a side show for the boxing matches instead. IMO
