Jerry Harris, the star of the Emmy-nominated Netflix series, “Cheer,” has been arrested on production of child pornography charges, according to the U.S. Attorney’s office in Chicago.
FBI agents executed a search warrant on his Naperville home on Monday as part of the investigation.
The news of Jerry’s arrest comes on the heels of a lawsuit filed on Monday in the District Court of Tarrant County in Texas.
14-year-old twin brothers accused Jerry of soliciting sex, sending sexually explicit messages via text and social media. They also accused him of asking them to send nude photos of themselves.
Via NBC Chicago:
According to Attorney John Manly, two children have filed a federal lawsuit against Harris and the United States All-Star Federation, a cheerleading organization, saying that Harris “tried to engage” the boys in sex.
“My clients’ mother found inappropriate texts from Mr. Harris on the child’s phone, involving sex,” Manly said. “The boys admitted he was trying to get them to engage in sex.”
