Remembering Mickey Lee
Mickey Lee, a contestant from the most recent season of “Big Brother,” has passed away at the age of 35.
Her family shared the heartbreaking news in an Instagram post on December 26.
“With profound sadness, the family of Mickey Lee announces her transition on Christmas in the early evening,” the statement read.
“Mickey captured the hearts of audiences nationwide through her appearance on ‘Big Brother,’ where her authenticity, strength, and spirit left a lasting impression on fans and fellow cast members alike.”
According to a GoFundMe created on December 22, Lee had been hospitalized in the ICU after suffering a series of cardiac arrests.
The fundraiser described her condition as critical in the days leading up to her passing.
Originally from Jacksonville, Florida, and later based in Atlanta, Georgia, Lee worked as an event curator and creative professional.
On “Big Brother,” she quickly became a standout for her bold gameplay, infectious energy, and genuine personality.
Fans connected with her openness and the confidence she brought into the house.
Following the news of her passing, “Big Brother” host Julie Chen Moonves shared a deeply personal tribute on Instagram, reflecting on a recent conversation she had with Lee.
“Two months ago I interviewed Mickey Lee on God 101,” Chen Moonves wrote. “That’s when she revealed to me that she was born with a hole in her heart, and as an adult she survived an ATV accident that should have killed her, but God kept her alive. Last night God brought her home 🕊️ Rest In Peace dear Mickey. I will see you again on the other side in eternity. I pray the good Lord comforts and heals your family and loved ones as we grieve your passing. Amen 🙏🏼”
Several “Big Brother” alumni paid tribute to Lee and the light she shared during her time on and off the screen.
“She will always be remembered, and I am beyond grateful to have had the opportunity to get to know her,” wrote Rachel Reilly.
“She shared so much light with us and was such an amazing soul.”
“This is so devastating,” added Mecole Hayes. “We are incredibly sad for this unfortunate loss.”
Bayleigh Pelham also reflected on Lee’s impact, sharing that she was grateful Lee was able to experience “Big Brother” and share her light with the world, noting how kind and beautiful she was.
