Andrew Cuomo has been ordered by the New York State public ethics commission to forfeit the earnings from his $5.1 million book deal.

The book titled, “American Crisis: Leadership Lessons from the Covid-19 Pandemic,” is about the former governor leading the state during the coronavirus pandemic.

According to the resolution, Cuomo, who is accused of using state resources for the book, has 30 days to return the money.

His spokesperson, Rich Azzopardi, is calling BS.

This is political hypocrisy and duplicity at its worst.

Governor Cuomo received a JCOPE opinion and advice of counsel stating that government resources could not be used — and they weren’t — and any staffer who assisted in this project did so on their own time, which was reflected on their timesheets.

In April, when the press asked Andrew Cuomo if state resources were used to create the book, he said that “some people volunteered to review the book.”

He also donated $500,000 to the United Way of New York State for pandemic relief and vaccination efforts.

Whew, Chile.
