American Girl has unveiled their newest historical doll: Claudie Wells.
The fictional character grew up in New York City’s Harlem neighborhood in the 1920’s – an era that became known as the “Harlem Renaissance.”
The American Girl official Instagram page shared a few fun facts about Claudie:
Claudie is growing up during the Harlem Renaissance, surrounded by artists.
She’s never met a baked good she didn’t like – especially ones made by daddy!
She’s on a discovery mission to find her talent – get ready.
Claudie’s book is written by New York Times best-selling author Brit Bennett.
Now, what’s really cool is how Brit manifested this deal six years ago.
She took to Instagram writing, “How it started, how it’s going ? finally got to live out my millennial dream and create a new historical character for American Girl.”
