Beverly Hills police have made an arrest in the fatal shooting of Jacqueline Avant, wife of legendary music executive Clarence Avant.

A 29-year-old Aariel Maynor has been arrested in connection to the home invasion shooting that took the life of the beloved 81-year-old philanthropist.

Multiple surveillance videos, including city cameras, showed the suspect’s car leaving the Avant’s affluent neighborhood in Beverly Hills after the shooting.

About an hour after the shooting at the Avant residence, around 3:30 a.m., Los Angeles police responded to a report of a shooting and found Maynor in the backyard of a Hollywood home seeking help for a gunshot wound.

An investigation determined, Maynor also burglarized that home and had accidentally shot himself in the foot.

He was subsequently arrested by LAPD and transported to a local hospital and has been in police custody ever since.

Maynor will be booked into jail when he is medically cleared by doctors.

Police have also recovered an AR-15 rifle, which is the same caliber used in the shooting of Mrs. Avant. They are also processing his vehicle for evidence.

Aariel Maynor has an extensive criminal history and is currently out on parole, according to the police.

Police believe he is the only suspect in the shooting death of Jacqueline Avant and a motive is still under investigation.
