A 26-year-old inmate was found dead in a cell at a Louisiana prison on Tuesday night.
Gavin Porter, who is the son of Tyler Perry‘s sister, was placed in solitary confinement after getting into a fight with another inmate over the weekend.
Around 6 p.m. on Tuesday, guards claim they checked on Gavin and he was fine. At 8 p.m., when they conducted another check, they found Gavin dead in his cell.
Authorities reportedly told the family Gavin hung himself with his bedsheets.
Gavin Porter was serving 20 years in prison for the shooting death of his biological father, Gary Wayne Porter, in 2016 following a domestic altercation.
The entire situation is so sad.
