Three men were sentenced to life in prison for the 2018 murder of rapper XXXTentacion.
A jury deliberated for almost a week before convicting Trayvon Newsome, 24, Michael Boatwright, 28, and Dedrick Williams, 26, of first-degree murder and armed robbery.
On June 18, 2018, XXXTentacion, whose real name is Jahseh Dwayne Ricardo Onfroy, had just left a Riva Motorsports dealership when his BMW was cut off by a blue Dodge Journey SUV driven by Dedrick Williams.
According to investigators, Newsome and Boatwright, who were wearing masks, jumped out of the SUV, shot the rapper multiple times, and grabbed a Louis Vuitton bag containing $53,000 in cash from XXX’s car.
Robert Allen, who was sitting in the backseat of the SUV, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder last August and testified against his alleged co-conspirators during the trial.
In a Hail Mary, the defense tried to argue that the shooting was part of a murder-for-hire scheme planned by Drake.
Under Florida law, Trayvon Newsome, Michael Boatwright, and Dedrick Williams will not be eligible for parole or early release for good behavior.

During the sentencing, Solomon Saobande, the late rapper’s manager, read a statement:
This is a loss we will never truly recover from.
We will never get to see Jahseh live to his full potential, we will never get to watch him grown old, we will never get to watch him be a father.
XXXTentacion’s son, Gekyume Onfroy, was born seven months after his murder.
