Eric Braeden, an internationally acclaimed Emmy and People’s Choice Award-winning actor, is a television icon known for portraying “Victor Newman” on CBS’s “The Young and the Restless” for 42 years.
His notable film credits include Den of Thieves, directed by his son Christian Gudegast, and Titanic, where he played John Jacob Astor.
Braeden’s television work spans over 120 series, including “How I Met Your Mother” and “The Rat Patrol.”
Born Hans-Jorg Gudegast in Germany, he came to the U.S. for its opportunities, initially working in Galveston, Texas, before starting his acting career in Los Angeles.
Braeden is also a published author and humanitarian, recognized with multiple honors, including a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
