AMC Theatres is teaming up with Trafalgar Releasing and Sony Music Vision to bring “Usher: Rendezvous in Paris” to the big screen from September 12-15.
The concert film, directed by Anthony Mandler, captures the eight-time Grammy winner’s performance during Paris Fashion Week at La Seine Musicale.
This limited 4-day event will be showcased in 2,000 cinemas globally, including 1,000 theaters in the U.S.
Adam Aron, Chairman and CEO of AMC Theatres, expressed his excitement:
For 30 years, Usher has captivated and entertained audiences through his music and concerts.
Just a few months ago, he drew rave reviews for his stunning performance in front of 129 million people during the Super Bowl Halftime Show.
Bringing his unparalleled concert experience to movie theatres for his fans around the world is a perfect fit for AMC Theatres Distribution.
The film not only features Usher’s iconic hits like “Yeah!”, “My Boo,” and “Love In This Club,” but also offers a documentary-like glimpse behind the scenes.
Usher shared his enthusiasm, saying
Paris was a special experience for me as an entertainer and for my fans.
I hope those who weren’t able to make it in person get to experience how special it was.
As for those of you who were, I hope you experience the show and see what it takes to get there through a different lens.
Marc Allenby, CEO of Trafalgar Releasing, added:
We are excited to continue our partnership with Sony Music Vision and AMC Theatres Distribution to bring the energy of Usher to movie theater audiences around the world.
He is the perfect artist to support our shared vision of creating global experiences around concert films for artists that advance the evolution of the cinema into venues for all forms of entertainment.
“Usher: Rendezvous in Paris” comes at a competitive time in the box office, opening against major releases like Lionsgate’s “The Killer’s Game” and Blumhouse/Universal’s “Speak No Evil.”
Despite the competition, the film aims to capture audiences with Usher’s electrifying stage presence and career-spanning hits.
Screening details and tickets will be available at UsherinParis.com starting August 6 at 9:00 a.m. ET / 6:00 a.m. PT.
The concert film will be supported by AMC and Odeon locations globally and will benefit from core marketing efforts in both U.S. and international markets.
Produced by Mandler, Usher Raymond, and Ron Laffitte, “Usher: Rendezvous in Paris” is a collaboration between Arcovision, Kingdom Films, and Laffitte Group Productions.
The executive producers include Aakomon Jones and Angelo Gopee for Kingdom Films, Kwesi Collisson for Arcovision, and Tom Mackay, Richard Story, and Krista Wegener for Sony Music.
Don’t miss this unique opportunity to experience Usher’s dynamic performance and the behind-the-scenes journey that brings his Paris concert to life on the big screen.
