Jacob Blake is no longer handcuffed to his hospital bed, according to his attorney.
The 29-year-old is paralyzed from the waist down after being shot in the back seven times by Kenosha police Officer Rusten Sheskey on Sunday.
The Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office, Jacob Blake had outstanding felony warrants when he was senseless shot by police and it is sheriff’s department policy to restrain people accused of felonies while in custody, even if they are hospitalized…and paralyzed.
“Our policy indicates that all people in custody outside of our jail facility shall be secured with restraints,” said Lieutenant Eric Klinkhammer.
Bond was posted on Jacob’s behalf so he was “released from custody” and the handcuffs were removed.
One would think the sheriff’s department policy would go out of the window after police attempted to kill the man in cold blood in front of his three small children.
Rusten Sheskey has not been charged at this time, but the shooting is under investigation by the Wisconsin Department of Justice.
