Over the weekend, Hip Hop stars Tobe Nwigwe and his wife, Fat Nwigwe, released “Undressing Criticism” to address the renewed chatter regarding their love story.
In 2017, the couple released a 5-part series on Fat’s “Forever Twisted” YouTube channel, where they detailed their love story from the very beginning.
In the video, Fat talked about the moment she fell for Tobe saying:
When I saw him I was like, ‘Man, I could marry this man.’
I felt like he was for me.
In that moment, I felt like he was for me.
Tobe chimed in to add:
I was like, ‘STOP!’
Fat continued:
You know how boy meets girl…boy falls in love and thinks the girl is the one…like he knows instantly – all that stuff?
Well, those roles were reversed.
Fat added, “He wasn’t interested at all.”
That’s when Tobe picked up the love story to share:
I said, ‘I don’t like you. Stop looking at me like that. I don’t like you like that.’
He went on to tell Fat:
I thoroughly wanted a relationship.
I just did not want you.

Long story short, Fat decided she was going to play the position of Tobe’s world-class bestie.
Eventually, Tobe said he would give “it a go” and “hopefully he would grow to feel as strongly about her as she did about him.”
While some consider Tobe Nwigwe and Fat to be goals, there are others who believe their love story has a lot of problematic elements and they aren’t here for it.
