Anthony Mackie has a notorious reputation for declining photo ops with fans, and now I believe I may know why.

The 45-year-old actor, who is set to star in Captain America: Brave New World, recently participated in The Hollywood Reporter’s comedy actors roundtable.

Anthony shared a story about the time he took a photo with a fan who then vomited all over him.

Watch below as Anthony shares the horrific story!

The actor added more clarity on his position below.

IceCreamConvos.com recently reported a woman on TikTok called Anthony Mackie “the rudest human being alive” for declining to take a photo with her.

A few ICC Friends took to our Instagram to react to the video.

Respectfully I get it know. I seen him come through the airport once and a woman spotted him. She was so excited but he was so cold. I thought he so was mean 😂. Gotta give ppl grace, my boy had his reasons. It’s ok to turn ppl down politely Falcon 😂

When I heard him tell this story, I was like this why he don’t want yall approaching him.

That’s F’d up!🤮🤮🤮🤮 I wouldn’t be taking any photos after that either.

That man is traumatized lol wow I would never want to take a picture again.

Omg he has PTSD!!! This why he don’t like us!!!

While I totally understand every fan hasn’t eaten oysters or will vomit on him…I totally understand why Anthony Mackie choses to protect his peace…and his attire.

  1. I think that Anthony’s excuse is B.S. He definitely has a form of social anxiety. I think it’s bigger than ptsd from a fan vomiting on him. That was terrible though. We go to the same dermatologist. I always act as if I don’t notice him outside of the regular greeting that I give everyone, when I see him. He’s always been polite. I notice that he tends to keep staring if you see and don’t acknowledge him, as if to say, “Hey” do you know whom I am? I’ve also seen him when working the New Orleans Festival for the past five years or so. His vibe is certainly one of a person who thinks that people are going to ask for something from him, cause that’s what niggas do.

Mr. Mackey is a professional actor. Public relations comes with the job. If he needs help he should get it. Additionally, he is at home in New Orleans where he grew up, and he’s purchased several acres of land and is opening a movie studio there. Entertainers from New Orleans usually embrace their city. In fact, I don’t know of one, except Mackey who doesn’t. It’s hard to tell that he is from there.

I believe that his behavior going to be an obstacle to success on his studio project. New Orleans strongly supports its young who are doing well. They have a symbiotic relationship with their artists, and the love deepens over time. John Baptiste, “Troy” Trombone Shorty, Ledisi, and Big Freida are examples of popular artists. I hope that I am wrong, that Mackey thinks that he can side step the his local fans and residents and move with White executive types like in Hollywood in NOLA and be good.
