Susan Kelechi Watson took to her Instagram story on Saturday and revealed she is single.
Watson conveniently dropped the news between posts celebrating Joe Biden and Kamala Harris‘ projected win in the 2020 election.

Watson announced her engagement to actor Jaime Lincoln Smith last September on Instagram, in a now-deleted post. The post contained a picture of her sapphire engagement ring and a poem she wrote.

Susan Kelechi Watson did not divulge what caused the engagement to be called off, but she appears to be taking it in stride as she is very active on social media, primarily promoting her show.
Watson is an alum of Howard University and she was super excited to see her fellow alum Kamala Harris become the first female African American Vice President-Elect.
I’m a firm believer in everything happens for a reason, and we wish Watson and Smith the best in their future relationships.
