“The People’s Court” has been canceled by Warner Bros. after 26 seasons.
The show, hosted by Judge Marilyn Milian, is the longest-running traditional court show and won four Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Legal/Courtroom Program in 2014, 2015, 2020, and 2021.
Judge Milian, who is the first Latina judge to host a nationally syndicated television court show, has presided over “The People’s Court” since 2001.
In addition to TPC, Warner Bros. has also pulled the plug on “Judge Mathis” after 24 seasons.
Insiders tell Variety that the decision was made due to the declining nature of the daytime syndication landscape.
“Judge Mathis” and “The People’s Court” are staples in daytime TV and will be sorely missed.
