Tank said he feels great about Barry Hankerson, the CEO of Blackground Records, re-releasing his first three albums along with Aaliyah‘s catalogue.
News broke earlier this week that Blackground Records has rebranded and partnered with the independent label, Empire, to form Blackground Records 2.0, which will be releasing previous recordings from Aaliyah, Timbaland and Magoo, Toni Braxton, JoJo, and Tank.
These recordings were held up for years due to a rift between Barry Hankerson and Aaliyah’s mother, Diana Haughton.
Tank says he missed out on 10 years of revenue, and he is excited for the younger generation to hear his early work.
