Makenzie Thompson may be the definition of a perfect student after receiving 49 college acceptance letters and over $1.3M in scholarship offers.

Makenzie is a senior at South Fulton High School in Atlanta, Georgia, and she stays booked and busy when it comes to her academics and school activities.

She is currently:

  • The senior class President
  • A 4-year veteran and co-captain of the Blue Rain dance team
  • The Vice President of the Beta Club
  • One of the varsity baseball team managers
  • A Georgia Merit Scholar recipient
  • In the National Honors Society
  • In the National Honors Society of Dance Arts
  • Treasury of an investment group for teens
  • In the Magnet Program
  • An IB Certificate candidate
  • A work base learning student

She said she received her first college acceptance letter from Fort Valley State, and then the letters just started rolling in.

When I got my first one from Fort Valley State, it was like wow I’m actually going to college.

So, at this moment I’m sitting at 49 acceptances and over 1.3 million in scholarships.

So to just see all of them rolling in, we have like a folder for all the letters, paper copies, and it just gets wider and wider.

We’re just like okay… We’re running out of space.

She encourages other seniors to keep working hard and trust the process.
