Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley is setting the record straight after catching heat for his recent golf outing with Donald Trump.

While quarterback Jalen Hurts‘ appearance at the White House is still up in the air, it looks like Barkley will be in Washington, D.C., to visit President Trump on April 28.

A day before the planned visit, Barkley was spotted exiting Marine One alongside Trump and later hitting the green at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster.

After receiving a wave of criticism, Saquon Barkley jumped on X (formerly Twitter) to clear the air.

He wrote that people were upset because he played golf and flew to the White House with the President.

He emphasized that he respects the office, calling it “not a hard concept to understand.”

Saquon also pointed out that he recently played golf with Barack Obama and is simply looking forward to finishing a round with Trump.

He closed his message by telling critics to get out of his mentions and “have an amazing day.”

If Donald Trump and Saquon Barkley wanna be golf buddies – let them (in my Mel Robbins voice).

I wasn’t an SB fan to begin with so I have no dogs or running backs in this fight.
