Ryan Cameron Doing Well, Radio Legend Says Sepsis ‘Tried To Take Him Out’

19

Ryan Cameron called into MAJIC 107.5/97.5 on Wednesday from the hospital to give Rashan Ali an update on his health.

The radio legend had to undergo emergency surgery earlier this month and the entire city of Atlanta came together to uplift him in prayer.

The scoop on the streets of Twitter was Ryan had suffered a heart attack, but during his convo with Rashan, Ryan revealed he had an infection and became septic.

Fortunately for me, I tested negative for the virus (COVID-19), but I tested positive for sepsis.

Imagine an infection taking over your whole body. And when I actually got to the hospital – the emergency room because I made my mom call the emergency room…

Listen to your body. They were like, ‘What’s going on?’ And I’m like, ‘I got these chills. I got this fever.’ And they were like, ‘You’re going in.’

I was unconscious through Easter. That sepsis was trying to take your boy out of here because I had an infection in my whole body.

Ryan went on to share when he was 30, he was diagnosed with a heart condition, mitral valve prolapse, which he inherited from his father.

Mitral valve prolapse is an improper closure of the valve between the heart’s upper and lower left chambers.

He told Rashan his doctor told him he would likely need a heart replacement when he’s 60.

Ryan Cameron added, “When man plans…God laughs,” insinuating he had to undergo the surgery during his hospitalization.
