Gizelle Bryant is making one thing very clear – she has never dated Peter Thomas and she never will.
The “Real Housewives of Potomac” star is laying romance rumors with the former “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star to rest in an exclusive interview with Page Six.
Gizelle explained that the number one reason why she wouldn’t date Peter is that she is very good friends with Cynthia Bailey.
“I know Cynthia. I love Cynthia. I went to Cynthia’s wedding to Mike Hill,” she shared. “So this was just, like, weird.”
The dating rumors began after the Season 7 trailer for “The Real Housewives of Potomac” was released.
Gizelle Bryant said she called Cynthia right away to clear the air.
“I wanted her to know because I know how this ‘Housewives’ thing is. If there’s a rumor that I’m dating Peter, she’s doing press for other things, she’s going to be asked and I wanted her to be able to tell the truth which was, ‘I’m not dating Peter,’” she said.
Ironically, Cynthia Bailey was completely unbothered and actually gave Gizelle her blessing to date Peter.
“She was like, ‘Girl, you could do you. I don’t care what you do. Like, if you want to date him, have at it,’” Bryant says. “And I was like, ‘No.’ No shade to Peter, but no!”
She may not be open to dating Peter Thomas, but Gizelle is definitely welcoming him on “RHOP” with open arms.
“You know, Peter Thomas is good TV. Let’s just start there. I’ve known Peter for a very long time,” she said, before reiterating, “But I’ve never dated him, never kissed him, never held his hand. I will not be dating him. Peter and I are just friends.”
Gizelle Bryant also noted that it was another housewife to started the dating rumors to deflect from their connection to Peter.
“Yes, somebody needed to deflect from themselves and Peter,” she says without naming names.
“So they immediately put it on me. I’m the single girl, it’s easy to believe, I know Peter, I’ve been out — not with him — but I’ve been out and he’s been at places I’ve been, we have pictures together, all that,” Bryant elaborates. “It was easy to believe. But it was a deflection.”
In the Season 7 trailer, it is Candiace Dillard who brings it up, but Gizelle said she is not the one who started the rumors.
The 52-year-old mother of three daughters, Grace, Adore and Angel, and the ex-wife of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church Pastor Jamal Bryant, is now single and ready to mingle…but not with Peter Thomas.
The new season of “The Real Housewives of Potomac” kicks off on Sunday, October 9 at 8/7c on Bravo.
