Jamal Bryant apologizes to Kevin Samuels family and friends

During his sermon on Sunday (May 15), Pastor Jamal Bryant issued an apology for remarks he made about the late Kevin Samuels in a previous sermon.

You may recall, that we previously reported the pastor of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church fired shots at the late controversial self-proclaimed relationship guru when he told his congregation:

You are listening to men who have no authority.

How can a man say that you are of low value after 35?

How can a man say that you do not have the level of traction of a high-powered man when that man has got to get a GoFundMe for his funeral?

We have now learned that the GoFundMe that was set up to cover Kevin Samuels’ final arrangements was not authorized by his family.

The campaign has been removed from the site and contributors have received refunds for their donations.

Pastor Jamal Bryant took to Instagram on Sunday and posted a video clip of her apology to Kevin’s family and friends.

The caption on the video read:

Benjamin Franklin once said, “the best way to mess up an apology is to add an excuse.”

I extend my deepest condolences and apologies to #kevinsamuels family and friends.

Thank you to all who purposed to keep me accountable.

We grow from mistakes and birth maturity.

Humility will always defeat arrogance. We grow as we go!

See the original post as well as the video clip of the apology below.

Accountability is important.

At this time, the Samuels family has not publicly addressed Pastor Bryant’s remarks or apology.
