A Florida woman’s order turned into a nightmare after a pizza delivery driver brutally attacked her over a $2 tip.

Melinda Irizarry, a pregnant woman staying at the Riviera Motel in Kissimmee, suffered a terrifying home invasion that left her with 14 stab wounds.

What Happened?

According to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, Irizarry ordered a pizza from Marco’s Pizza Shop on December 22.

When the delivery driver, 22-year-old Brianna Alvelo, arrived with the $33.10 order, Irizarry handed her a $50 bill and requested change.

Alvelo reportedly told her it was against store policy to provide change, forcing Irizarry to retrieve smaller bills.

Ultimately, she gave Alvelo a $2 tip.

Melinda Irizarry told authorities that Alvelo “rolled her eyes and walked away without saying anything.”

A Violent Return

Approximately 30 minutes later, Brianna Alvelo allegedly returned to the motel room, this time with an unidentified male accomplice armed with a gun.

Authorities say the pair forced their way into the room.

Armed with a knife, Alvelo attacked Melinda Irizarry, stabbing her repeatedly in the chest, arms, legs, and abdomen.

The attackers also reportedly stole items from the motel room before fleeing the scene.

Emergency Response & Arrest

Deputies arrived at the scene after reports of a home invasion and stabbing.

Irizarry was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she underwent emergency surgery for a ruptured lung.

Despite her injuries, she is now in stable condition.

Brianna Alvelo was arrested and faces charges including home invasion with a firearm, attempted murder, kidnapping, and aggravated assault.

Meanwhile, the male accomplice remains at large.

Authorities Seek Public Help

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office urges anyone with information about the unidentified suspect to contact Crimeline at (800) 423-8477.

Thankfully, Melinda Irizarry is recovering, and authorities are working to bring all involved to justice.
