What a week for Pittsburgh Steelers receiver DK Metcalf.
On Wednesday, March 12, he proposed to R&B sensation Normani, and by Thursday, he inked a jaw-dropping $150 million contract with the Steelers, making him one of the NFL’s highest-paid receivers.
‘Everything Is Falling Into Place’
During a press conference at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex, Metcalf reflected on this life-changing moment:
“I found a new home here, found a new fiancée. Everything is falling in line the way God planned it to be.”
Interestingly, his former Seattle Seahawks teammate, Russell Wilson, played a key role in this love story.
Russell and his wife, Ciara, introduced DK Metcalf to Normani three years ago at one of Ciara’s parties.
In a 2024 interview with Apple Music’s Ebro, Normani revealed that Ciara and Wilson were mutual frens with both her and Metcalf, and they secretly played matchmaker.
“They was playing cupid, but it worked,” Normani said. “If you could trust a couple [to set you up], that would be the couple.”

After DK popped the question, he and Normani FaceTimed Ciara and Russell Wilson to share the exciting news.
Ciara later posted a screenshot from the call, capturing Normani holding up her stunning oval-shaped ring while Russell looked happily surprised and Ciara beamed with excitement.
“Russell and I knew when we introed y’all 3 years ago… love was truly in the air! Now y’all gon’ be booed up for forever!!” Ciara wrote in the caption. “This was the best news! DK and Normani, we love y’all so much!”

Normani’s Stunning Engagement Ring
Normani, best known for her time in Fifth Harmony before launching a successful solo career, proudly showed off her engagement ring at DK Metcalf’s press conference.
The wide receiver even called out to her off-camera, saying, “Hold that rock up, baby.”
A Family-Filled Proposal In Houston
So, how did DK Metcalf propose?
The NFL star shared that the romantic moment happened in Houston, where both his and Normani’s families were gathered for his sister’s Spring Break.
“My family and her family was in Houston. It was my sister’s Spring Break, and I just thought about getting the whole family together for a big kumbaya and joining our families with the ring,” DK shared.

A Love Story Years In The Making
While DK and Normani kept their romance relatively private, they were first linked in 2022 when they were spotted at Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica.
