Nicco Annan was honored by the NAACP as the recipient of their inaugural Trailblazer Award.
The activist and actor who stars as “Uncle Clifford” on the Starz hit series, “P-Valley,” received the award at the organization’s 113th National Convention in Atlantic City.
Nicco took to social media to express his gratitude for receiving the award writing, “It’s a huge honor, to which I say THANK YOU to the @naacp for turning the page & creating an inclusive space for ALL of us.”
“I may be the first person to receive this award but I am not the first (nor the last) Black artist, activist, person, or NAACP member within the #LGBTQ community,” he wrote.
In closing, Nicco Annan shared, “I stand on the shoulders and link arms with those of yesteryear, today, & tomorrow. I promise I will not be the last ✊??️???”
