OWN Reveals First Look at ‘Love & Marriage: Detroit’ Season 2
Get ready for more drama and relationship rollercoasters as OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network drops the first glimpse of the highly anticipated second season of “Love & Marriage: Detroit.”
The series returns on Saturday, September 7 at 9/8c, right after the season finale of “Love & Marriage: Huntsville.”
Following its premiere, “Love & Marriage: Detroit” will settle into its regular time slot on Saturdays at 8/7c, beginning September 14.
This season continues to follow the lives of three African American couples—Russell and Kolby Harris, Brandon and Kristina Bowman Smith, and Anthony and Dr. LaToya Thompson—who are deeply rooted in the vibrant, revitalizing city of Detroit.
As they juggle their careers, families, and personal aspirations, they face new challenges that put their relationships to the test.
What To Expect In Season 2
Kristina & Brandon Bowman-Smith
Kristina and Brandon’s marriage is on the rocks as they begin the new season separated. Kristina, who has spent the past decade raising their two daughters, is now reassessing her life as a single mother while reigniting her singing career. Meanwhile, Brandon’s focus on his artist development business, Star Factory, continues to strain their relationship. A recent break-in at the studio may force them to reconsider their priorities and find a way to rebuild both their business and marriage.
Kolby & Russell Harris
Kolby and Russell, who have been married for four years, are expecting their second child. But while Russell is already talking about having a third, Kolby, who only ever wanted one child, isn’t so sure about expanding their family further. As a rising social media influencer, Kolby is struggling to balance her growing career with the demands of motherhood, all while trying to communicate her own vision for the future to Russell, who remains focused on his work as a pastor and his nonprofit, Soar Detroit.
Dr. LaToya & Anthony Thompson
LaToya and Anthony, married for 15 years, are facing the complexities of work-life balance. LaToya, a successful physical therapist and wine entrepreneur, continues to be the primary breadwinner, a fact that Anthony still grapples with. As she deals with mommy guilt and worries about passing her perfectionist tendencies onto her children, Anthony is expanding his work with a men’s organization, providing a much-needed outlet for men to discuss their lives and relationships.
New Faces Stir Up the Group
The new season also introduces two fresh couples, Marcel and Kimberly Dobine and Bravo and Lakeita Samuels, who bring their own set of challenges and dynamics to the mix.
Marcel & Kimberly Dobine
Marcel and Kimberly, who have been married for eight years and have two young children, are working on their communication issues. While Marcel is in the mortgage industry, Kimberly juggles her role as an event planner and the founder of the Posh & Popular brand. As old tensions between Kimberly and Kristina resurface, viewers will see if their fractured friendship creates further divides within the group.
Bravo & Lakeita Samuels
High school sweethearts Bravo and Lakeita Samuels, married for six years, are navigating the challenges of Bravo’s demanding career in hospitality. With Bravo managing several clubs and restaurants in Detroit, Lakeita, who is a social service manager, struggles with his frequent late nights. The couple must work through their differences as they strive to build a lasting legacy for their family.
