Awww ish! Jenifer Lewis and Laurence Fishburne are set to star in “Old-ish,” the latest spinoff from Kenya Barris’ hit comedy series, “Black-ish.”
Jenifer and Laurence will reprise their roles as Earl “Pops” Johnson and Ruby Johnson, the parents of Anthony Anderson’s Dre.
The spinoff will follow Ruby and Earl as they give love a second chance. When they move to a rapidly gentrifying neighborhood of L.A., they’ll meet characters who represent the old and new faces of the community as they try to make it work as a married couple. Again.
In a post on her Instagram page, the Mother of Black Hollywood gushed:
I’m so happy. A lifelong dream come true. Thank you all for your support and love throughout the years. Thank you, @kenyabarris
Kenya Barris, the show’s creator took to Instagram and said:

Laurence Fishburne has been an executive producer of “Black-ish” from day one.
Jenifer Lewis was upped to series regular in season two.
I cannot wait to watch these two cut up on screen in their very own series, “Old-ish.”
