There’s something special about catching an actress right as everything starts to click. That’s exactly where Ogy Durham is right now.
With a growing list of credits and a standout appearance in “Imperfect Women” on Apple TV, she’s stepping into a new level of confidence, one that didn’t come overnight but was built in the quiet moments in between.
Before stepping into “Imperfect Women,” Ogy Durham had already been building a solid résumé with appearances in fan-favorite series like “Hacks,” “CSI: Vegas,” “Lucifer,” “Modern Family,” and “How I Met Your Mother,” proving she can move seamlessly between comedy and drama.
A Role That Adds A Little Tension To The Room
In “Imperfect Women,” Ogy plays Gabby, a character who doesn’t exactly blend into the background.
“I play a character named Gabby, who is sort of a know it all and wants the rules followed. Somewhat of an intellectual elitist.”
That description alone lets you know Gabby is going to stir things up, and those are always the characters that keep us locked in.
What pulled Ogy into the project was immediate.
“The names Kerry Washington and Elisabeth Moss jumped out at me and I was hooked!”
Sharing The Screen With Elisabeth Moss

Just before stepping onto set, Ogy had been watching the final season of “The Handmaid’s Tale,” which made the experience even more surreal.
“I had just finished watching the last season of The Handmaids Tale when I found out I was going to be working with Elisabeth.”
Seeing Elisabeth Moss transform in real time left a lasting impression.
“So when I got to set, it felt absolutely surreal to watch her transform from June who I had been watching, into Imperfect Women’s, Mary.”
But admiration quickly turned into focus.
“I was so mesmerized by her performance that I honestly, had to remind myself, oh yeah – you’re acting with Elisabeth Moss girl, it’s GO time!”

The Drive Home That Changed Everything
After filming wrapped, Ogy had a quiet but powerful realization that stayed with her long after she left set.
“Yes. Driving home after the shoot, I thought. Wow. I am ready. I am capable. I just performed with two incredibly talented people, Elisabeth Moss and directed by Daina Reid, and I did it. I held my own. I had fun, I showed up, I did my job and we all told the story together.”
She didn’t shy away from acknowledging how rare and meaningful that moment was, especially in an industry where opportunities can be inconsistent.
“Sometimes as an actor, I can doubt my own capabilities because the opportunity to work can be so infrequent for some of us. I audition and don’t hear anything, or I get an ‘option’ and it goes a different way. I have gone many moons sometimes without being on a major network set.”
That experience became more than just a credit. It became confirmation.
“So if anything, it was a privilege but also a necessary confidence injection. LIke God said, hey, keep going, Beloved, you deserve to be here.”

The Beauty In The Gaps
Ogy’s perspective on growth is rooted in something deeper than just booking the next role.
She connects her journey to the concept introduced in “Imperfect Women,” referencing the Japanese art of Kintsugi.
“We are watching the cracks (presumably) of a broken vessel being filled in by Gold. The japanese art of Kintsugi, suggesting that we are made more beautiful by our imperfections. That it is the gaps where the light comes in.”
For her, those in-between seasons have been transformative.
“For me, oftentimes, it’s the gaps between the work that have been some of my biggest growth moments. It’s where I get to make my spiritual practice stronger and have faith that the next job is on the way.”
And in those moments, she’s learned to ask herself a deeper question.
“Now who am I in the Gap?”

Why “Imperfect Women” Will Resonate
At its core, “Imperfect Women” explores the kind of friendships that aren’t always easy, but are very real.
Ogy believes audiences will recognize themselves in those dynamics.
“The complicated dynamics of friendships, especially female friendships when secrets are kept and shame and fear keep someone from being their authentic self with the people they claim to love the most.”
A Voice For Representation That Feels Real
Ogy is deeply aware of the importance of representation, especially when it comes to telling fuller stories about women’s lives.
“Everything! We women are so hungry to see ourselves represented on screen. Especially women that are no longer in their 20’s figuring out the relationship and the job, but women in their 40’s, 50’s, 60’s living full complex lives with histories to draw on and present lives of love, loss and responsibility and desires.”
She’s also clear about what’s still missing.
“Please more 40 plus women from every background leading real dynamic lives. Show the love stories that happen at these ages, show the loss, show the new chapters and careers, the new dreams being fulfilled. We don’t disappear. We are here!”
Ogy Durham Knows Exactly What She Wants
Ogy approaches her craft with both range and humor.
“I love both. I can find a lot of dramas to be very funny. I’m the person that’s laughing way too loud at the weird, awkward moments, so maybe drama is a little more challenging?”
And when it comes to what she wants next, her answer is grounded and honest.
“Getting to be on a show consistently recurring and know a crew and cast for a full season or more.”
She’s also keeping her eyes on future collaborations.
“Sterling K. Brown… or as my husband says, SKB baby!”
What She Wants You To Take Away
At the end of the day, Ogy Durham isn’t overcomplicating what she hopes audiences feel when they watch her.
“I hope they laugh.”
And something tells me… they will.
