It appears things may be out of control over at Quality Control. Offset has filed a lawsuit against the Migos’ record label over his solo career.
According to the suit, Offset, whose real name is Kiari Cephus, claims he negotiated a solo deal with Quality Control back on January 15, 2021.
He noted that he “paid handsomely” for his artist’s rights, but now that he’s released a new solo project the label seems to be suffering from a case of selective amnesia and isn’t honoring the deal.
Offset released his new single, “54321,” produced by Grammy Award-winning rapper Baby Keem, and Quality Control is trying to claim ownership of the music.
Set is asking the court to declare Quality Control does not own anything he’s made as a solo artist since January 15, 2021, or any of his future projects.
Pierre ‘P’ Thomas Speaks Out
Quality Control’s CEO Pierre “P” Thomas took to social media to address Offset’s lawsuit.
He tweeted, “The last lawsuit was filed publicly and dismissed quietly. Let’s see how this one go. Been to real for all this lame sh*t. Everyone know the real problem.”
See his tweet below.
Offset responded to the tweet and revealed just how bad the blood is between him and P.
He wrote, “Ni**as act like I’m the problem I paid millions to get my rights back Ni**a you blackballed me I ain’t said Sh*t one time homie I ain’t spoke to you in 2 years now I drop and you want ya name on my credit?”
They haven’t spoken in two years?! Wow.

Cardi B Joins The Convo
Cardi B took to social media to stand 10 toes down with her husband and share her frustrations about this dispute.
She wrote, “Offset bought himself out his QC deal after they didn’t want to negotiate his contract.”
“I’m tired of people trying to make Offset look like the bad guy…ENOUGH IS ENOUGH,” she added.
What Happened With Offset And Migos?
Breakup rumors have been surrounding the Migos for months, however, no one in the group will definitively confirm or deny the split.
The breakup chatter became even louder when Takeoff and Quavo released “Hotel Lobby” under the moniker Unc and Phew.
However, in June, Quavo seemingly shut down the rumors when he gifted Takeoff with a $350,000 chain that featured all three group members.
The Migos are still signed to Quality Control and with Offset’s deeply rooted issues with P, it now makes sense why he’s not recording any new music with Quavo and Takeoff.
Offset And Moneybagg Yo
Despite all of the label and legal drama, Offset has announced his new single, “Code,” featuring Moneybagg Yo, will arrive on Friday (August 26).
