Netflix has dropped the official trailer for Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan’s latest true-crime anthology series, “Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story.”
This series chronicles the real-life case of the Menendez brothers, who were convicted in 1996 for the brutal murders of their parents, José and Mary Louise “Kitty” Menendez.
While the prosecution argued they killed their parents to inherit the family fortune, the brothers claimed—and still insist, even as they serve life sentences without the possibility of parole—that their actions were driven by fear after a lifetime of physical, emotional, and sexual abuse at the hands of their parents.
“Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story” delves deep into this historic case that captured the world’s attention, ignited a fascination with true crime, and ultimately asks: Who are the real monsters?
The series stars Nicholas Chavez as Lyle Menendez, Chloë Sevigny as Kitty Menendez, Javier Bardem as Jose Menendez, and Cooper Koch as Erik Menendez.
The series is set to premiere on September 19, 2024, exclusively on Netflix.
