I knew Mo’Nique was going to ruffle feathers when she took to social media and urged young Black women to stop wearing bonnets, slippers, and pajamas in public.

But, there was also an overwhelming amount of people who expressed their appreciation for her addressing it and urging young Black women to do better.
The legendary comedian took to Instagram on Memorial Day and went live.
During her convo, addressed those who accused her of bashing Black women:
For you baby girl that just came in here and said I bashed my sistas…let me tell you something, young lady – I’m fighting so hard for my sistas because we’re at the bottom of the totem pole.
We’re at the bottom! Black women are at the bottom!
Mo’Nique went on to say:
So what you think is bashing, young sista is me loving. Cause the last thing I ever want to do is bash my babies.
But, what I will not do is back up from the go**amn truth! I won’t do it! I won’t back up from loving my community! I won’t back up from loving my little sistas! I won’t back up from saying the sh*t that needs to be said!

Whether or not you agree with what Mo’Nique is saying…I feel like her intentions are pure.
