M&M’s 2 People Rescued After Falling Into Tank Full Of Chocolate At Mars Factory In Pennsylvania

Two people were rescued and transported to the hospital on Thursday (June 9) after falling into a tank full of chocolate at the Mars M&M’s factory in Pennsylvania.

Assistant Supervisor Nick Schoenberger of Lancaster County 911 Dispatch told CNN:

One patient was transported by ground and one person was transported by helicopter.

The extent of their injuries is unknown at the time of this post. 

Brad Wolfe, communications supervisor for Lancaster County 911 dispatch told CNN that fire crews eliminated pulling them straight out of a tank.

He also confirmed fire crews had to cut a hole in the side of the tank to get them out. 

It is unclear how the people fell into the chocolate tank at the M&M’s factory.

A Mars Wrigley spokesperson told CNN:

We are actively managing the situation and our primary focus is supporting emergency teams on site.
