It’s with a heavy heart that I report Louie Anderson has died after battling an aggressive form of blood cancer.

The comedian, game show host, three-time Emmy winner, and Coming To America star was admitted to a Las Vegas hospital earlier this week to receive treatment for diffuse large B-cell lymphoma.

Louie transitioned to his heavenly home on Friday morning.

He was 68.

Pauly Shore visited with Louie on Thursday evening.

He took to Twitter afterward and shared this message:

Attention comedians and @TheComedyStore alumni’s I say this with a heavy heart just left the hospital in Las Vegas where Louie Anderson his sisters and close friend were kind enough to let me say my goodbyes he’s still with us but keep him in your prayers

See his original tweet below.

According to his publicist and longtime friend, Glenn Schwartz, Louie, one of 11 children, was a counselor to troubled children before launching his comedy career.
