BET+ and Hartbeat are teaming up to bring audiences “Lil Kev,” a highly anticipated adult animated series inspired by the childhood of comedy superstar Kevin Hart.
Set in 1993 North Philadelphia, “Lil Kev” follows a 12-year-old Kevin Hart as he navigates the challenges of growing up with an unshakable imagination and unwavering optimism—despite his neighborhood’s harsh realities.
Premiering exclusively on BET+ on March 6, 2025, this series promises humor, heart, and nostalgia with a powerhouse cast.
Star-Studded Cast Brings ‘Lil Kev‘ To Life
Gerald “Slink” Johnson (Black Jesus) stars as Henry, Kev’s troubled father, who struggles with addiction but wants to be a better dad.
Jamar Neighbors (Keanu) voices Robert, Kev’s pessimistic older brother, while Cree Summer (Abbott Elementary) takes on the role of Gerald, Kev’s sharp-tongued best friend.
Additional notable cast members include:
- Anjelah Johnson-Reyes as Marisol, Kev’s mother’s sassy best friend.
- Patricia “Ms. Pat” Williams as Tiki, a fiery, no-nonsense woman who prioritizes her hair appointments over everything.
- Wé Ani as Rhe Rhe, Kev’s crush and a future brain surgeon.
- Mo Collins as Mrs. O’Lady, a blunt, elderly neighborhood fixture.
- Affion Crockett as Darnell, an ex-con adjusting to life outside prison.
- Tyree Elaine, Jess Hilarious, Justin Hires, Rick Ingraham, Jayden Libran, Freddy Lockhart, and Aiko Tanaka add depth to the vibrant cast of characters.
