Teenage Siblings Trapped In Sand At Jersey Shore Beach

Teenage siblings became trapped in approximately 10 feet of sand, at a New Jersey beach, after digging a hole with frisbees, and unfortunately, 18-year-old Levi Caverly didn’t make it.

His 17-year-old sister was rescued and treated at the scene.

The sand collapsed around them while they were digging the hole.

The Toms River Police Department released the following statement about the incident.

The tragic event took place at a beach in Toms River, New Jersey, on Tuesday (May 17).

The Caverly family was visiting the Jersey Shore Beach from Maine.

Levi’s father, Todd Caverly, released the following statement Wednesday morning (May 18) in remembrance of his son:

Levi was himself. He was odd. He was quirky. He was not really concerned with what others thought.

He knew Jesus Christ. He was involved in the worship team at church, and was the drummer in a teen/young adult worship band.

He was a tech nut and loved to program. The truth is that

Scripture says that all our days are numbered. That there is nothing we can do to add a single hour to our life. He knew that.

We send our condolences to the Caverly family.
