Effective immediately, the NFL team once known as the Washington Redskins will move forward as The Washington Football Team.
The name isn’t permanent, but it will allow the team to move forward in the season while they figure out their rebrand, according to a statement.
The decision to use ‘Washington Football Team’ for this season allows the franchise the ability to undertake an in-depth branding process to properly include player, alumni, fan, community, and sponsor input.
Washington also unveiled the look of their altered uniforms:
