Splash brother #2 Klay Thompson of the Golden State Warriors suffered an Achilles tear yesterday to his right leg while working out in Southern California, and from the MRI this morning he has officially been ruled out for the full 2020-2021 season.
According to ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne, Thompson was playing pick-up ball in Los Angeles with several NBA players and felt pain in the calf area when he landed on his leg.
Reportedly, coach Steve Kerr and members of the Warriors training staff will fly out to Los Angeles to support Thompson.
This will make Thompson’s second season in a row that he will be unavailable due to injury. Thompson missed last season after tearing his ACL in his left knee during game 6 of the NBA Finals against the Toronto Raptors.
Thompson was excited about coming back this season and contending for a championship. Hopefully, next year Klay Thompson will return to the Golden State Warriors better than ever.
