Kendrick Lamar has done it again! Following the massive success of “Not Like Us,” the Grammy-nominated Drake diss track, the rap icon surprised fans today with his sixth studio album, GNX.
The 12-track project dropped on Friday, November 22, and has already sparked excitement across the music world.
This album marks Kendrick’s first full-length release since his critically acclaimed Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers in 2022, which served as his highly anticipated comeback after DAMN. back in 2017.
‘What To Expect From Kendrick Lamar’s ‘GNX‘
The album kicks off with “Wacced Out Murals,” a bold opener featuring the soulful Spanish vocals of mariachi singer Deyra Barrera.
Lamar delivers fiery verses aimed at his critics, and Barrera returns later in the haunting track “Reincarnated” and the album closer “Gloria.”
One standout, “Luther,” finds Lamar flexing his vocal skills alongside SZA, who also makes a powerful appearance on “Gloria.”
With co-writing from INK, this collaboration is destined to make waves.
Lamar also reunites with an all-star lineup of producers, including Jack Antonoff, Mustard, Sounwave, and jazz virtuoso Kamasi Washington, creating a sonic landscape that’s as diverse as his lyricism.
Other must-hear tracks include “Dodger Blue,” “Peekaboo,” and “TV Off.”
Longtime fans of his “The Heart” series will be thrilled by “Heart Pt. 6,” the latest addition to the series that began in 2010.
The Energy Behind ‘GNX’
The release of GNX comes just months before Kendrick Lamar takes the stage as the headliner for the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show.
The album also builds on the momentum of “Not Like Us,” which earned him five Grammy nominations, including Song and Record of the Year.
With GNX, Lamar continues to prove why he’s one of the greatest storytellers and lyricists of our time.

Kendrick Is and rightfully should be the face of hip hop. He checks all of the right boxes. He has actual talent, a thorough message, and he does it without trying to cater to anyone. This is music! This is hip hop!

If GNX is any indication, Kendrick Lamar’s reign as a hip-hop trailblazer shows no signs of slowing down.
