Kadeem Hardison and Jasmine Guy stopped by “The Breakfast Club” on Wednesday in anticipation of the 35th anniversary of “A Different World.”
The series, which premiered on September 24, 1987, was a spinoff of “The Cosby Show.”
“A Different World” initially centered on Denise Huxtable (played by Lisa Bonet) and the life of students at Hillman College, a fictional historically black college in Virginia.
Kadeem starred as “Dwayne Wayne” and spent the first season of the show pining for Denise.
By Season 2, Dwayne Wayne’s attention shifted to the ultimate southern belle, “Whitley Gilbert,” played by Jasmine, and they eventually became a couple by Season 4.
Fans of the show were stressed out when they broke up and Whitley began dating “Byron Douglas III,” played by Joe Morton.
One of the most epic moments on the show was when Dwayne Wayne crashed Whitley’s wedding to Byron in a last-ditch effort not to lose the love of his life.
During their interview on “The Breakfast Club,” Kadeem Hardison gave the behind-the-scenes scoop on the magic that made that scene unforgettable.

During their interview, Jasmine Guy spoke on how the producers of “A Different World” mistreated Lisa Bonet and she shared her thoughts on Marisa Tomei being the only white character on the show.
