After their engagement ended, David Otunga received the ring back from Jennifer Hudson in 2017, and he has decided to put it on the auction block.

David and Jennifer were engaged for 10 years, but they never made it down the aisle.

According to the law in most states, an engagement ring is a “gift in contemplation of marriage,” and if the marriage doesn’t happen the person who gave the ring gets it back.

Jennifer gave the ring back to David when they broke up in 2017.

It’s unclear why he waited five years to auction the ring but, reportedly, he plans to give a portion of the proceeds to an organization for father’s rights.

Jennifer and David have a 12-year-old son, David Daniel Otunga Jr., together.

The ring is beautiful. It was designed by Neil Lane in 2008, and it is a 5-carat cushion cut diamond ring with an estimated retail value of $45k.

David has teamed up with IDoNowIDont.com to auction off the size 7 diamond ring.

Jennifer wore the ring in 2009 when Whitney Houston presented her with a Grammy.

David Otunga is a former WWE wrestler, who is now a WWE panelist and color commentator. He is also a lawyer.
