📞 A Prank Call That Shouldn’t Have Happened
During what should have been one of the most exciting moments of his career, Shedeur Sanders became the unexpected target of a prank — and the culprit was Jax Ulbrich, the son of Atlanta Falcons defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich.
As Sanders waited for his name to be called on Day 2 of the NFL Draft, a fake call from someone impersonating New Orleans Saints GM Mickey Loomis threw a curveball into his big night.

Now, Jax has publicly apologized, calling his actions “inexcusable” and “childish.”
🏈 Jax Ulbrich Comes Clean About Pranking Shedeur Sanders
On Sunday, Jax Ulbrich — the son of Atlanta Falcons defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich — admitted he was the one behind the prank.
In an Instagram post, Jax apologized to Shedeur Sanders, calling his actions “completely inexcusable, embarrassing, and shameful.”
“I’m so sorry I took away from your moment,” Jax wrote. “It was selfish and childish.”
He also thanked Sanders for accepting his personal apology earlier that day.

Yeah…everyone’s sorry after they get caught. 🙄
🧐 How Did It Even Happen?
According to a statement from the Atlanta Falcons, Jax copied Shedeur’s private number off his father’s open iPad while visiting his parents’ home.
Jeff Ulbrich reportedly had no idea his son accessed the information or made the call.
The Falcons made it clear they do not condone this behavior and apologized directly to the Sanders family.
They also confirmed that Jeff Ulbrich will not face any disciplinary action but said the organization is reviewing its internal protocols to prevent future breaches.
🎙️ Shedeur Sanders Reacts With Grace
Despite the chaos, Shedeur Sanders handled the situation like a pro.
Speaking with reporters after being drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the fifth round, Sanders said the prank call didn’t shake him.
“It didn’t really have an impact on me,” he said. “I don’t feed into negativity… It is what it is. Of course, it was childish, but everybody does childish things here and there.”
His calm reaction was also captured on Deion Sanders Jr.’s YouTube channel, where Shedeur appeared unfazed by the ordeal.
📋 Other Draft Night Pranks
Turns out, Shedeur wasn’t the only one dealing with prank calls on draft night.
New Indianapolis Colts tight end Tyler Warren and Buffalo Bills sixth-round pick Chase Lundt also reported receiving fake calls during the NFL Draft, according to ESPN.
It’s still unclear if Jax Ulbrich was involved in any other incidents.
It takes a truly terrible person to do something like this. https://t.co/Vd4K4MD31m
