Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter has taken legal action against an Alabama woman who accused him of raping her when she was 13 years old.

The lawsuit, filed on Monday, claims that the woman—identified as Jane Doe—fabricated the allegations as part of an extortion scheme.

Jay-Z’s Defamation Lawsuit

Jay-Z’s legal filing asserts that Jane Doe strategically timed her claims “to inflict maximum pain and suffering” on him.

His lawsuit also targets her attorneys, Tony Buzbee and David Fortney, accusing them of being “soullessly motivated by greed” and disregarding the truth.

Doe initially filed her lawsuit alleging that both Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs sexually assaulted her following the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards.

However, she later withdrew her case after Jay-Z challenged the credibility of her claims and sought legal sanctions against Buzbee.

Allegations Against Tony Buzbee

Jay-Z’s lawsuit contends that Jane Doe has since admitted to his representatives that the allegations were false and that she was pressured by her legal team to proceed with the claims.

The filing states:

Doe has now voluntarily admitted directly to representatives of Mr. Carter that the story brought before the world in court and on global television was just that: a false, malicious story.

She has admitted that Mr. Carter did not assault her; and that indeed it was Buzbee himself … who pushed her to go forward with the false narrative of the assault by Mr. Carter in order to leverage a maximum payday.

The lawsuit emphasizes that the accusations have caused significant harm to Jay-Z’s reputation and that the legal action aims to put an end to what he describes as an “extortion and abuse” campaign against him.

Tony Buzbee Responds To Jay-Z’s Lawsuit

Tony Buzbee has pushed back against Jay-Z’s defamation lawsuit, claiming that Doe has not retracted her accusations and is, in fact, standing by her claims.

He stated:

Shawn Carter’s investigators have repeatedly harassed, threatened, and harangued this poor woman for weeks, trying to intimidate her and make her recant her story.

She hasn’t, and won’t.

Buzbee also accused Jay-Z’s legal team of attempting to bribe individuals to sue him, further complicating the high-profile legal battle.

Jane Doe’s Ongoing Fear and Allegations

Despite withdrawing her lawsuit, Jane Doe has reportedly continued to stand by her claims.

According to TMZ, she alleges that investigators working for Jay-Z approached her and her family, attempting to coerce her into signing an affidavit recanting her accusations.

She also claims these alleged investigators questioned whether Buzbee had offered her financial incentives to file the lawsuit.

The woman asserts that these confrontations have left her feeling terrified and intimidated, particularly because her identity had remained anonymous in legal proceedings and media coverage.

This high-stakes case involving Jay-Z, Tony Buzbee, and Jane Doe continues to unfold, with both sides making serious allegations against each other.

As the legal drama intensifies, it remains to be seen how the courts will handle the defamation lawsuit and whether new evidence will emerge to support either party’s claims.
