I’m disheartened to report Ike Turner Jr. (pictured in the yellow suit) was arrested last month and charged with possession of crack cocaine and tampering with evidence.
Ike Jr., who is the son of the late legendary singer Tina Turner and her former husband and musical partner Ike Turner, was arrested on Saturday, May 6 in Alvin, Texas.
Police pulled over Ike Jr. and his passenger, Jessica Salinas-Esquivel, at 12:09 a.m. for an equipment violation (a missing headlight or taillight) while driving a white 2013 Ford Fusion.
Police seized 1.7 grams of crack cocaine and .7 grams of methamphetamine when they noticed Ike Turner Jr. trying to consume the narcotics.
Capt. Q.T. Arendell of the Alvin Police Department said, “He tried to eat the drugs before the officers could seize them from him.”
Jessica is also charged with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamines).
After Tina Turner split from Ike Turner, Ike Jr. worked as his mother’s sound engineer, but it didn’t last long.
He shared in a past interview:
When my mother and father separated, he did not want me working with her — and he beat me in the head with a nickel-plated .45 pistol.
In 2018, Ike Jr. told the Daily Mail that he had not talked to Tina in over a decade.
Ike Turner Jr. is predeceased by his mother, Tina, who transitioned to her heavenly home on May 24, 2023, his father, Ike Sr., who died from an overdose in 2007, his brother Craig died of an apparent suicide in 2018, and his brother Ronnie died suddenly in December 2022.
Praying that Ike Jr. gets the help that he needs to get clean and sober.
