Season 2 of “Family Legacy” is dropping on March 25th on Paramount+, and trust me, you won’t want to miss it.
This season features 10 half-hour episodes, each giving exclusive insights into the lives of the children of some of the most influential musicians and bands across hip-hop, R&B, rock, and pop.
With such a diverse lineup, there’s truly something for every music fan.

One of the most anticipated features of this new season is the story of Chey and Sha (PXWER) Smith—the talented children of Method Man, one of the most iconic members of Wu-Tang Clan.
I had the chance to chat with Chey and Sha recently, and let me tell you, these two are carrying the legacy in their own unique ways.
The interview was filled with love, laughter, and a real sense of authenticity.
These two aren’t just Method Man’s kids—they’re carving out their own paths in the music world, and it’s beautiful to watch.
Keeping It Real: Authenticity Is Everything
One of the biggest takeaways from my conversation with Chey and Sha was how important authenticity is to them.
And it’s no surprise, considering the example their dad set.
Chey put it perfectly when she said, “The man that you see in the videos playing with his kids is literally the same exact man you see jumping around on stage.”
There’s no fronting, no faking it. Method Man is the real deal, and that authenticity has been passed down to his kids.
For both Chey and Sha, staying true to themselves in their music is key.
Chey said it best: “We try to emulate that [authenticity] as well because he definitely instilled that in us.”
Whether they’re creating their own sound or collaborating with others, authenticity is their foundation.
The Pressure Of Being Method Man’s Kids
Let’s keep it real—being the offspring of a hip-hop legend comes with some pressure.
Chey and Sha know it all too well.
“There’s definitely a little bit of pressure,” Sha said, acknowledging that people are always going to compare them to their dad.
“People are expecting us to be this, like, lyrical miracle, spiritual rapper… and it can be tough when you’re trying to carve your own path.”
Chey gets it, too. But rather than let the pressure get to them, they’ve embraced it as a challenge.
“We’re both doing our own thing,” Sha said. “I’m for the super chill crowd, and she’s for the ladies.”
They’re not trying to outdo their dad—they’re just being themselves.
Family First: Creating Music Together
One of the things I love most about “Family Legacy” is seeing other offspring from the Wu-Tang Clan come together to create.
Chey and Sha describe their music-making process as “organic” and “loving,” and you can tell that they’ve learned the value of family and collaboration.
Sha shared that writing with his cousins, who are also second-generation Wu-Tang artists, has been both motivating and inspiring.
“It’s like all my cousins in the room, and it makes me push my pen to the best of my ability,” Sha says.
And trust me, you can hear it in their music—this is a crew that knows what they’re doing.
Honoring Dad’s Legacy While Creating Their Own
When I asked Chey and Sha about their dad’s influence on their music, they both lit up.
Chey’s favorite album of her dad’s is Tical: The Prequel, and she calls it “the soundtrack of my childhood.”

She also mentioned how the variety of sounds on that album—from the party tracks to the hard-hitting ones—inspired her to explore different vibes in her own music.
“I try to emulate that by staying authentic to myself but also exploring every genre and vibe,” Chey said.
Sha, too, learned from Method Man’s ability to flow on any beat. “I studied his flow, his ability to rap on anything and everything at the highest level,” Sha explained.
It’s clear that they both respect their dad’s artistry and are putting their own spin on it.
The Next Chapter In The Legacy
Now, let’s talk about what’s next for Chey and Sha.

Sha is dropping his album Let’s Try Again on the same day “Family Legacy” Season 2 premieres, so you know that’s going to be a big moment.
Chey has also got new music on the way, including his hot new collab with Weather Park (Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s son) on the track “YahYah.”
These two are on the rise, and if you haven’t already, now’s the time to get familiar.
