Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa isn’t taking any chances when it comes to protecting his home and family.

During a press conference on Wednesday, Dec. 11, the 26-year-old NFL star issued a clear warning to potential burglars: “Think twice.”

Tagovailoa revealed that his home is now guarded by armed security personnel whenever he’s on the road with the Dolphins, explaining that the decision came after a frightening experience.

“We got personal security to take care of all of that when we’re on the road,” Tua shared.

“We got someone with my wife, got someone also at the house, surveying the house, so just to let that be known, they are armed. I hope if you decide to go to my house, you think twice.”

His cautionary statement comes amid a troubling rise in burglaries targeting NFL players.

The trend has left many feeling vulnerable as thieves appear to strike while athletes are away playing games.

  • A String Of High-Profile Burglaries
  • In early October, Kansas City Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce fell victim to break-ins within 48 hours of each other while playing against the New Orleans Saints. Just this past weekend, Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow’s home was burglarized while he was in Texas facing the Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football.

NFL players aren’t the only athletes being targeted. Milwaukee Bucks forward Bobby Portis revealed his Wisconsin home was burglarized while he was on the court playing against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Nov. 2.

  • A Growing Concern
The NFL issued a memo last month warning players about a possible organized crime ring behind the break-ins. ABC News and Fox 4 Kansas City have reported that investigators suspect a South American crime network may be orchestrating these burglaries.

Burrow, 28, voiced his frustration over the invasion of privacy, saying, “It feels like my privacy has been violated in more ways than one.”

As the NFL grapples with this unsettling trend, Tua Tagovailoa’s proactive approach highlights the lengths athletes are going to in order to safeguard their families and homes.

I’m not mad at him one bit!
