On Thursday night, I had the pleasure of attending OWN’s Atlanta launch party for their new anthology series, “Cherish The Day.”
The eight-episode anthology series, created by the incomparable Ava DuVernay, stars Alano Miller and Xosha Roquemore as “Gently James” and “Evan Fisher,” and chronicles their relationship over the course of five years.
Each episode will mark a significant moment in the couple’s relationship over the course of one day.
Brace yourself because this series is going to give you all the feels!
The launch party was held at The Stave Room and the venue was buzzing with Atlanta’s most influential press, celebrities, and influencers…including your truly.
DeWanda Wise, Santana Raymond, Joel Rush, Terri J. Vaughn, Trina Braxton, Rashan Ali, Syleena Johnson, and Jasmine Guy were among many of the notables in the building.
When I walked into the venue, I was completely blown away by how beautiful the room was.
The drinks flowed, the food was delectable, and the sweets were delicious.
The most exciting part of the evening was when Ava DuVernay moderated an interactive Q&A with the cast of “Cherish The Day.“
Xosha Roquemore, Alano Miller, Michael Beach, Anne-Marie Johnson, and Kellee Stewart introduced their characters, discussed working on this exciting project, and previewed a few of their favorite scenes from the series, which is slated for a special two-night premiere on February 11 and 12 at 9/8c on OWN.
