It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Erica Ash, the talented actress known for her roles in “Survivor’s Remorse” and “Real Husbands of Hollywood.”

Erica Ash passed away at the age of 46 after a prolonged battle with cancer, as confirmed by her publicist Elizabeth Much.

Erica’s family shared a heartfelt statement, saying, “Erica was an amazing woman and talented entertainer who touched countless lives with her sharp wit, humor, and genuine zest for life. Her memory will live eternally in our hearts.”

Erica Ash’s career spanned across television, film, and Broadway, leaving an indelible mark on each medium.

She first garnered attention on the Fox sketch comedy show “Mad TV” and later on Logo’s “The Big Gay Sketch Show,” produced by Rosie O’Donnell.

Her dynamic presence and comedic talent shone brightly on these platforms, setting the stage for her future successes.

In “Survivor’s Remorse,” Erica portrayed Mary Charles “M-Chuck” Calloway, the half-sister of pro basketball player Cam Calloway, played by Jessie T. Usher.

Her performance across all four seasons of the Starz comedy-drama, produced by LeBron James, was both captivating and memorable.

On BET’s reality spoof “Real Husbands of Hollywood,” Erica played Bridgette Hart, the formidable ex-wife of Kevin Hart, showcasing her ability to bring humor and depth to her roles.

The series ran for five seasons from 2013 to 2016, further cementing Erica’s place in the entertainment world.

Erica also made her mark on the big screen with roles in films such as “Scary Movie V” (2013), “Uncle Drew” (2018), “The Big Bend” (2021), and “Violet” (2021).

Her versatility as an actress allowed her to seamlessly transition between comedy and drama, earning her acclaim and a dedicated fan base.

In 2018, Erica starred as Gwen Sullivan, a fierce public defender, in the BET drama “In Contempt,” further showcasing her range and talent.

Her role in this series demonstrated her ability to tackle complex characters and storylines with authenticity and passion.

Born Erica Chantal Ash in Florida on September 19, 1977, she pursued her education at Emory University before making her way to Broadway.

In 2011, she starred in “Baby It’s You!,” a jukebox musical featuring music from The Shirelles and other acts signed to Scepter Records, highlighting her versatility as a performer.

The news of Erica’s passing has left the entertainment industry and her fans heartbroken.
