What a time to be alive! Drake said he was “high on life” Tuesday after waking up as the “Artist of the Decade” and having dinner with his idol Ronald Isley.

Today was one of those days it doesn’t feel real.

Waking up to artist of the decade then having dinner with my idol @ronaldisley and listening to the stories behind every song that shaped my love for emotional music and created my formula for a lot of my writing… high on life right now my g’z.

Billboard announced Tuesday morning that they will present Drake with the Artist of the Decade Award at the Billboard Music Awards on May 23.

Later that night, Drake went to dinner with the legendary Ronald Isley, and Drizzy was honored to hear the stories behind some of his favorite songs.

Drizzy sampled The Isley’s Brothers “Between the Sheets” on his 2009 debut EP So Far Gone, and he also sampled Aaliyah’s famous 1994 Isley Brothers cover “(At Your Best) You Are Love” on his 2010 debut album Thank Me Later.

Drizzy holds the title for the most BillBoard Music Awards with 27, he won 12 awards in 2019.

And, he has a chance to add to his total because he is a finalist in seven categories at this year’s show.

Be sure to tune in to see how many more Billboard Awards drake will pile up.

Nick Jonas will host the awards, and the show will air live Sunday, May 23 on NBC at 8PM EST/5PM PST.

Do you agree with Billboard that Drake is the artist of the decade?
