Dee Barnes left Twitter on Friday after the surveillance video of Diddy assaulting Cassie triggered memories of her own assault at the hands of Dr. Dre.

She tweeted, “Seeing that video is extremely triggering. #DrDre punched, slammed, kicked and stomped me out. #Concussion Logging TF off.”

On January 27, 1991, Dr. Dre and Dee had a disturbing encounter at a record release party in Hollywood.

Dee Barnes described a horrifying scene where Dr. Dre grabbed her by the hair and violently slammed her head and body against a brick wall.

His bodyguard, armed with a gun, kept others at bay.

When Dr. Dre failed to throw her down the stairs, he resorted to kicking her.

Dee managed to escape to the women’s restroom, but Dr. Dre followed, grabbing her hair again and punching her in the back of the head.

The incident ended with Dr. Dre and his bodyguard fleeing the building.

The attack reportedly stemmed from Dee’s interview with Ice Cube, where he dissed N.W.A. and mocked The DOC’s voice after his near-fatal car accident.

Dee Barnes filed charges against Dr. Dre and he ultimately pleaded no contest.

He was given probation.

Earlier this month, Dee Barnes tweeted, “Reduced to a punchline in a song that made millions… meanwhile I CANNOT PAY MY RENT.”

She is referring to Eminem’s “Guilty Conscience,” where Slim Shady raps:

You gonna take advice from somebody who slapped Dee Barnes?

In 2015, Dre issued a blanket apology to the women he’s hurt.

I apologize to the women I’ve hurt,” Dr. Dre said in a statement to the New York Times. “I deeply regret what I did and know that it has forever impacted all of our lives.”

I’m sending love and positive energy to all of the women who were triggered by the horrific video of Diddy assaulting Cassie.

Cassie is in my prayers.
